What should you be doing at the moment in light of the global credit crisis?
• Sit tight – if you own a property the chances are that mortgage rates will drop again and this is also probably not a good time to sell.
• On the flip-side this could be a good time to consider an investment property as the housing prices soften and variable rates are certainly going to decrease further in the foreseeable future.
• However, the banks and other lenders are going to be more risk averse so be aware they may require stronger evidence of income and serviceability.
